Laura G. Hanan, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018. Born May 11, 1942 in Denver, Colo., she was the daughter of the late Morris and Colleen (Kenney) Garnsey. She worked as a Youth Employment Counselor in Denver for several years and was the Owner of Nimble Thimble, Fort Wayne, for over 40yrs. She volunteered with the Fort Wayne Ballet, Civic Theatre, Youth Theatre, and the Allen County Christmas Bureau. She earned the Volunteer Connection award and the Technician’s Award with the Civic Theatre. She was also a member of Grace Point Church of the Nazarene for nearly 15 years. She was an adopted mother and grandmother to many and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Hanan of Fort Wayne and Debi (Rick) Jenkins of Kendallville; 21 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Becky (Ken) Talarico of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Vance Hanan in 2003. Funeral Service will be 11:00am on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Hockemeyer and Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Rd., Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling will also be from 1-5pm on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the funeral home. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
