Lillian L. Bolyard

Lillian L. Bolyard, 90, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at Saint Anne Home. Born July 5, 1923 in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Fred Gerke and Corine (Bohde) Gerke. She retired from Magnavox where she worked in the insurance department. She was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Surviving are her sons, Steven C. (Becky) Bolyard of Spencerville and Bruce A. (Patricia Scheerle) Bolyard of New Orleans, LA; and grandchildren, Melissa, Bradley, Andrea, Elizabeth, Katherine, Olivia and Robert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. in 2009 (Robert played basketball for South Side High School and played in the 1938 Basketball Championship); daughter, Denise Bolyard; and brother, Donald Gerke. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with calling from 10 to 11 a.m. Pastor Mark Neubacher officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home. Burial in Concordia Cemetery Gardens.
