Millicent M. Burgess

Millicent M. Burgess, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021. Born on December 20, 1927, in London, England, she was a daughter of the late Louis J. and Florence B. (nee Whichloe) Leyser. Millicent was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, and retired as an Administrative Assistant to Dr Don Lahrman, after many years of service. She was a member of Cedar Creek Women's Club, and the Order of the Eastern Star. Millicent is survived by her daughter, Melanie (Donald) Snyder of Fort Wayne; sons, Rhett (Carol) Burgess of Leo, Rod (Kaye) Burgess of Higganum, Connecticut, and Brig (Linda) Burgess of Palm City, Florida; as well as seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William J. Burgess, in 2002; two sisters; and five brothers. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Bethany United Methodist Church (7715 Sunny Lane, Fort Wayne), with calling one hour prior.
