Richard G. Campbell

Richard G. Campbell, 85, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born in Lynchburg, VA, he was the only son of the late Leroy and Loretta A. Campbell. He was raised in Springfield, OH, and attended St. Raphael Catholic School. He graduated from Catholic Central High School and the University of Dayton. Richard retired from Magnavox in 1989 after 33 years of service as the Manager of Contract Administration and Control System Operations. He enjoyed fishing and big band music. Richard was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. He is survived by his daughter, Claire A. Horn of Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.; son, Daniel J. (Angela) Campbell of Columbia City, Ind.; 5 grandchildren, Katherine Horn, Daniel Horn, Olivia Campbell, Logan Campbell and Luke Campbell. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marianne Campbell and son Steven Campbell. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 2130 Pemberton Drive Fort Wayne, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Father Robert D’Souza officiating. Visitation will also be from 3 to 8 p.m. at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. Rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Burial at Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, National Parkinson Foundation or to the Masses.
