James E Campbell
October 1, 1921 – September 30, 2011

James Elwood Campbell, Sr., 90 of Spotsylvania passed away at his residence on Friday, September 30, 2011. He served in the US Navy during WWII for six years, receiving 4 ribbons, and 2 stars.
He was a manager at CAL Ice in Long Beach, CA for many years after his service in the navy. In 1967, he returned to his home in Virginia, working for the Dowling Sign Co., where he retired after 20 years of service. After his retirement he spent many years enjoying his garden, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy A. Campbell; four children, Debora L Campbell, James E Campbell, JR, Steven R Campbell and wife, Penny, and Thomas V Campbell and wife, Heather all of Spotsylvania; 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina L Nickols; parents, Elwood E and Lillian B. Campbell; three sisters, Vivian Meyer, Catherine Craig, and Edna Smoot; and two brothers, Edward Campbell and Milton " Pete" Campbell.
The family would also like to thank Mary Knott for all her help.
The family will receive friends at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel on Thursday, October 6, 2011 from 6-8:00 PM. A graveside will be held on Friday, October 7, 2011 in Sunset Memorial Gardens at 12:00 PM.
