Joseph M. Maglish age 79 of Griffith, IN passed away April 3, 2014; Joseph is survived by his wife Ann C., two daughters Lisa M. (Kenneth) Galik of Crown Point, IN, Barbara L. (Stephen) Ehrman of Indianapolis, IN, my four shining stars, my grandchildren Amanda & Stephen Galik, Damian & Stefan Ehrman, daughter-in-law Kristin Maglish of Crown Point, IN, three sisters Mary (Late Richard) Szafasz, Barbara A. Maglish, Rose (Russell) McDougall, sister-in-law Loretta Maglish, many nieces & nephews; preceded in death by his parents Mike & Mary Maglish, son Joseph A. Maglish, two brothers Mike (Dorothy) Maglish, John (Lura) Maglish, two sisters Katherine Saban, and Anne Shaban. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday April 7, 2014 10:00 am DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Church, Griffith, IN, Rev. Theodore Mens officiating, burial Mt Mercy Cemetery, Gary, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2 to7 pm (with a 6:30 pm prayer service) at Kuiper Funeral Home 9039 Kleinman Rd (two blocks south of Ridge Rd) Highland, IN. Joseph was a teacher for the East Chicago Public School System for 36 years, member of St. Mary Catholic Church, served two years in the US Army, graduated from East Chicago Washington High School and Indiana University. Joseph was inducted into the East Chicago Sports Hall of Fame for football and played college football for Indiana University. Please omit flowers.
