I am beyond upset to hear of this sad news. My fondest memories are of you and I working at Strack and Van Til. We worked together for many years bagging groceries and doing our best to hide from management in the cooler during those hot summer days! We owe that story a lot of milk hahaha. Whenever we took a customers bags out and they wanted to split the tip, you always insisted that I take it. You had such a big heart and a wonderful personality. My cousins, brother, sister, and I always enjoyed working with you. Although it had been years since we last spoke, you were never forgotten. You will always hold a special place in our hearts and memories. Rest easy friend. Paper or Plastic?

P.S. I hope you got that big toe fixed ;)

I would have to write volumes to fully describe Lee the way I truly would want to. But to summarize Lee here, he was a unique, genuine human being that has put countless others to shame with his visions of the realities of life. That man didn't have a mean bone in his body. Like everyone, he got mad, sad, angry, happy, smiling, etc. We have been friends for 15+ years beginning at Stracks. He knew I had his back, I looked out for him. We quickly bonded with our inside jokes and he was a very likeable person. I included him on outings out, bowling, wherever we went. Lee ALWAYS had an invitation, and always came! We bonded over our love for thrifting, garage sales, cell phones and item swapping. He loved making his bird houses. One of our close to last conversations was him wanting to help me set up some birdhouses in my front tree. I will put one there in his memory. He helped me more than any other friend ever would. He always knew I would take care of him as his time was just as important. His death has left a huge void for so many people. He was one of the good ones. There will never be another Lee. It's impossible, as he was just one of a kind. My son and I will miss him so much.

With his big smile, Lee was the Mayor of Ralston Place -- cutting grass, unclogging sewers or just hanging out in the backyard. We were happy to have you as a friend.

We will miss you, Lee.
