Betty L. Gunhouse, 93, of Indianapolis, formerly of Frankfort, Illinois, departed this life Friday, February 19, 2021. She was born January 15, 1928 in DuQuoin, Illinois to the late Clarence and Myrtle (Morgan) Conner. Betty earned a Bachelor’s degree in education from Southern Illinois University. She taught briefly, and then moved to Frankfort, Illinois to raise her family and help with her husband’s veterinary practice. Betty was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Thomas J. Gunhouse; son-in-law, Richard J. Gielczewski and great-grandson, Mavrik Maximus White. Betty is survived by her children, Steven Gunhouse, Camilla (Albert) Lovati and Margaret Gielczewski; five grandchildren, Ben (Rachel) Lovati, Cara (Brandon) Scearce, John (Val) Gielczewski, Charis Jessen and Katie (Zac) White; nine great-grandchildren, Jay, Savannah, and Anthony (Monica) Gielczewski, Reed and Maggie Jessen, Fiona and Gwendolyn Lovati, and Jett and Raleigh White; brother, Sonny Conner and sisters Sherline Clapp and Patsy Barrett.

There will be a private entombment for Betty at Calvary Cemetery, Court of Apostles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in her name to: American Heart Association.
