Obituary of Rev. Arthur Everly Beam
Rev. Arthur Everly Beam, 81, of Martinsville, died Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Stanleytown Health Care. He was born in Pennsylvania on August 11, 1930 to Newton Byron Beam and Florence Jeanette Everly Beam. He served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1953 and received his Masters Degree from Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. He served as pastor at First Christian Church in Ashland, Kentucky, Corinth Christian Church in Manquin, VA and Boones Mill Christian Church in Boones Mill, VA. Rev. Beam retired from Calvary Christian Church in Martinsville and until his death served as Minister of Visitation at Broad Street Christian Church, where he was a member and Elder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ethel Juanita Douglas Beam; a sister, Florence Essaf and a brother, Norton Beam. He is survived by his wife, Jean M. Beam of the residence; one daughter, Sherri McDonald of Ridgeway; two sons, Alan Montgomery of North Port, FL and Jack Montgomery of Alpharetta, GA; one step-daughter, Susan Reeves of Ocean Isle Beach, NC; three step-sons, Jay Muscatello of Christiansburg, Meredith Muscatello of Ridgeway and Marty Muscatello of Blacksburg; one sister, Clara B. Boungher of Ashton,PA; three brothers, Don Beam of Naples,FL, Al Beam of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and Barry Beam, of Windsor,PA; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Broad Street Christian Church with Rev. Clint Spivey, Dr. Jim Dickerson and Rev. Dwight Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park with Rev. Robert Button presiding. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
