Carlene was my first cousin and our families visited together frequently when we were growing up. We went to different schools until high school when boundaries were changed and the Figsboro students joined us at Bassett. We were both graduates from J.D. Bassett High School in the class of 1952. We went different paths in life. In later years We became reacquainted at the annual Draper Reunion. Carlene was a gentle loving soul with strong family ties who loved her flowers. She will be missed very much and I offer my condolences to all her family.

I was fortunate to have known Carlene when I was very young. As a Sunday school teacher she challenged me in ways that would help mold me in years to come. As an adult, her intelligence always inspired me to strive for higher goals. I always looked forward to her heart felt hugs each time we met. I know Carlene has riches in heaven awaiting her far beyond my understanding, and I will miss her until we meet again!

So many wonderful memories of Carlene. VBS crafts-SS teacher-learning Books of the Bible-getting coins-working in her flowers-telling me about her 4 kitties-fixing flowers for the altar at church-helping decorate for holidays-her sharp mind and her funny wit--my last picture of her was Sunday morning Aug 4th with my grandsons arm around her shoulder giving her a hug!! (AND so many many more things)!! I know she read books all the time also!!

I am so sorry to hear of Carlene’s passing. We were a part of the Thomasson clan of cousins with many years spread between us but always bound together by that ever present kinship. She was always so kind and helpful, forever showing a genuine interest in those around her. I will miss her sweet smile and loving embrace upon each encounter. May she rest in peace with our Lord.

Have so many fond memories of my wonderful cousin Carlene. So many summers were spent with her, her siblings and Uncle Posey and Aunt Ruth. Memories I’ll never forget. Just talked to her on Aug 6th and as always we talked forever reminiscing about all the good times. It was so wonderful to talk to her. It always made my day. I will miss her dearly but I know she has made the journey home to be with the Lord. REST IN PEACE DEAR COUSIN TILL WE MEET AGAIN. LOVE YOU. CLOVIS
