Daniel W. Biggs

Daniel Biggs, 74, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was born May 17, 1938 in Terre Haute, IN.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Newburgh, where he was a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Men’s Club. He was also a member of the Eagles, Junior Achievement Advisor, and a Boy Scout Troop Leader. After retiring from Whirlpool as General Manager for over 35 years, he worked at Showplace Cinemas in maintenance, and St. John’s maintenance. He served in the U.S. Army as Military Police while stationed in Germany, and was assigned as part of a team to guard President Eisenhower.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy; and sons, Greg and Tony.
A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 28, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Road, Newburgh, IN, officiated by Father Joseph Ziliak, with entombment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum in Evansville. Friends may visit Wednesday, 2-8 PM at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road, 261, Newburgh, IN, and 9 AM until Mass on Thursday.
