James L. Jones

James “Jim” L. Jones, 78, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2016, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born January 19, 1938, in Wayne County, IL, to the late John and Freda Jones. He was a longtime member at the Newburgh United Methodist Church and Crete Masonic Lodge 763. Jim worked for Kimball International for 34 years. After his retirement, he worked at Angel Mounds State Park. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Charles, Ray and John. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice Jones; son, Jeffrey Jones (Jenny); daughter, Jill Jones Koch; grandchildren, Jamie Koch Yates (Lee), Jordan Jones, Kylie Jones, Jacob Koch, Joshua Koch; 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Marlene Ginther; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit 5-8 PM, Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. There will also be visitation 10-11 AM on Thursday at Nale’s Funeral Home in Fairfield, IL, followed by graveside services at Bethel Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Angel Mounds State Park.
