Obituary of Leonard Arnold Badger
Leonard A. "L.A." Badger, 88, of Newburgh, IN, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Derby, IN on May 17, 1929 to the late Preston and Mamie Badger. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. L.A. retired from Whirlpool as a machinist and was very active in Mason Lodge 397 in Eureka, IN. He was a member of American Legion Kapperman Post 44 in Newburgh, Hatfield United Methodist Church, and Living Word Christian Church. L.A. also served as past Honor Guard member of Rockport American Legion Post 254. He loved to walk, bike ride and bird hunt. L.A. was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Jewell Salle Badger; wife, Roxanne Adams Badger; and 7 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Jeff Badger (Karen); grandchildren, Michelle Boyd and Gary Boyd, Jr.; 5 great-grandchildren; and sister, Zelda Hundley. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Mike Claypool with burial in James Parker Cemetery, Hatfield, IN at a later date. Military Honors will be performed during the service by American Legion Kapperman Post 44, and Eureka Masonic Lodge 397 will conduct a Masonic Service. Friends may visit 12:00 PM until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
