Dorothy W. Courtney

Dorothy W. Courtney, 81, of Hopewell went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 16, 2018. She was a pastor’s wife and Sunday School Teacher for many years at Chester Church of God and Culpeper Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Rev. Vernon E. Courtney. She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Tommy Hopkins and Wanda and Bobby West; grandchildren, Tracy and Kevin Crown, Trey West and Courtney West; great-grandchildren, Addison and Blake Crown; brother, Dick Williams; sister-in-law, Hazel Courtney; and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Chester Church of God, 4700 Lee St., Chester, VA 23831, where services will be held Wednesday, June 20, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
