Elinor Edwards Berry

BERRY, Elinor Edwards, 102, of Richmond, went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2018. She was preceded in death by her children, John Weeks, Carl Weeks, Joe Weeks, Bernice Ripley and Marvin Weeks I; and seven siblings. Elinor loved getting outside her home and hosting yard sales for her community. She was famous for her country cooking, maintaining an immaculate home and her ability to nurture all living things, including plants and especially, her beloved family. As the matriarch of the family, she is survived by her daughters, Thelma, Juanita, Annette; sons, James, Marvin, Roger (Tina) and Walter (Helen); many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great- grandchildren and even great-great-greatgrandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday,August 13, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
