Erna F. Burroughs

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Burroughs; daughter, Ann D. Burroughs-Outland; granddaughter, Kristina Gem Burroughs; son-in-law, Charles “Randy” Bearor; and two brothers.

Erna was a former member of Hilton Baptist Church in Newport News and currently a 42 year member of Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church in Richmond. She retired from Thalhimers and worked well into her 90s as a seamstress. In addition to her love of sewing, Erna also enjoyed traveling and spending quality time with her family.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jo B. Bearor, Richard W. Burroughs Sr.; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park, Sandston, Va.
