Veleria A. Hobgood

Veleria A. Hobgood, 86, of Evansville, IN, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2019. She was born on June 10, 1932 in New Edinburg, AR to the late George and Ila Attwood. Nana, as she was known, loved and was loved by all she met. She became Nana to everyone she met. “Blessed are the peacemakers” – Nana was a peacemaker. Veleria was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Curtis Attwood; her husband of 60 years, James L. Hobgood, M.D.; and, grandson, Sean Tilley. She is survived by daughters; Lee Ann (Daryl) Nations and Rebecca A. (James) Tilley; grandchildren, Drew (Brooke) Tilley, Sara (Mike) Foster, Michelle (Christian) Crenshaw, Josh Nations and James Nations; great-grandchildren, Jase and Emma Tilley; and her companion dogs, Coco and Kali. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Park Lawn Cemetery officiated by Rev. Patrick Garcia. Family and friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
