Garden of Memories Memorial Park

Since opening in 1949, the 50-acre Garden of Memories Memorial Park is the only cemetery in Angelina County offering perpetual care. It's a calming space for reflection and peaceful moments. The grounds feature a canopy of Spanish oak trees and is adorned with a rose arbor. When you stroll the memorial park, you'll also find an attractive garden gazebo. All of these elements come together to provide a quiet and picturesque place to honor the memory of your loved one.

Burial options for every family

At Garden of Memories Memorial Park, we offer a wide variety of burial choices to suit your needs. Options include traditional ground burial, private family estates and mausoleum entombment. For those who choose cremation, we also offer many different memorialization options.

History

Marcus Twain Gipson establishes the firm

Marcus Twain Gipson became a mortician and joined W. M. Glenn Hardware and Furniture Store where he assisted with funerals handled by the firm. In 1934, Marcus acquired the funeral business, renaming it Gipson Funeral Home. In addition to becoming a well respected man of the community, he also built one of the most respected businesses in Angelina County.

Elwyn Marcus Gipson and national recognition

Following the death of Marcus in 1950, Gipson Funeral Home was passed to his son, Elwyn Marcus Gipson. He led the business to even loftier heights and it became among the most respected funeral homes in Texas and received national recognition. Elwyn shaped the funeral home into a modern day business. For nearly a century, Gipson Funeral Home has displayed a professional approach to funeral arrangements that has earned the loyalty and support of Lufkin and Angelina County families.
