Barry was born and raised in Athens, Alabama. After high school, Barry attended Jefferson State Community College, earning an associate degree in funeral service education. Having served over 3 decades in the funeral industry, Barry loves the opportunity to help families of Madison County and surrounding areas as a valuable part of our team.
Barry's funeral career began on January 15, 1984 at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens, Alabama, beginning as an apprentice and, after completing mortuary school, was promoted to funeral director and embalmer. He served in that position until 1992, when he was promoted to location manager.
After serving the Athens Community at McConnell’s for 26 years, Barry transferred to Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in 2009, where he served as general manager for almost 5 years, before relocating to serve in his current position as general manager for 3 area locations.
