As part of the family who owned and operated the Pixley Funeral Homes in the Rochester area of Michigan, Vern A. Pixley grew up in the funeral industry. As the sixth generation of the Pixley family in Rochester, Vern attended Rochester High School and graduated from Michigan State University in 1980 with a Bachelor of Arts in business. He continued his education at Wayne State University, receiving a mortuary science certificate, and became a licensed funeral director in 1982. After college Vern returned to the family business and helped his father grow their firms into very successful operations.
Tim Summerford began working in funeral service at the age of 17. In 1986, he graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Chicago and earned his Michigan Mortuary Science license. Tim joined the Dignity Memorial® team in 2014, where he has served as General Manager and Funeral Director. Certified by the Hospice Foundation of America, Tim regularly presents to hospice and medical professionals throughout Michigan. In addition, Tim is frequently invited to speak about the funeral profession with community groups and educational institutions. Tim and his wife Debbie have been married for over 30 years and are the proud parents to 3 daughters. In his spare time, Tim is an avid reader and enjoys music and theology.
Gabriele Ducharme has been serving families in Rochester since 2015. Originally from Durand, Michigan, she now resides in Oakland County. Gabriele earned her degree in mortuary science from Wayne State University.
