A caring Brownsville funeral home
At the intersection of Old Port Isabel and Martinal roads, Funeraria del Angel Rose Lawn is a comfortable place to plan a funeral and host friends and family. With plenty of seating and a coffee bar in the lobby, and a chapel with flexible seating, we can accommodate intimate gatherings as well as big groups. The chapel can be arranged with rows of chairs or round tables and chairs, or with chairs in the front and tables in the back for a memorial reception that encourages friends and family to spend time remembering together and maybe even sharing a meal. We are happy to arrange food, drinks and music.
Personalized funeral services
Though traditional religious funeral services remain a popular option, we recognize that you may prefer a contemporary and upbeat Celebration of Life ceremony instead. Our attentive funeral directors specialize in creating custom memorials that truly speak to the lives of individuals. You can inspire us with a memory of your loved one, a hobby that grew into a passion, a favorite music genre or a portfolio of hand-created art, and we will work to gracefully incorporate as many personal elements as you would like into the service. Start with a story—we’ll take it from there.
Specializing in Hispanic traditions
We warmly welcome families of all backgrounds and cultures and we specialize in traditions important to Hispanic families. Our bilingual staff speaks both English and Spanish. They are highly experienced in working with Hispanic families. In keeping with Mexican funeral traditions, we offer in-home visitation, extended visitation hours and overnight visitation at no additional cost. We also arrange transfers to country of origin.
Not everyone knows that there are many cremation options. If you are interested in cremation, the funeral home team can explain the process and the different memorial and burial choices. From a direct cremation without a service or a witness to a full funeral service before or after the cremation and more, we help you understand this increasingly common decision.

Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens cemetery
Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens has provided cemetery services to the Rio Grande Valley for more than a half a century. Since the mid-1900s, we have served the communities of Brownsville, South Padre Island, Port Isabel, Los Fresnos, Los Indios, Rancho Viejo, Olmito and the entire Rio Grande Valley.
Our caring staff understands that losing a loved one is an emotional and difficult experience. We welcome all families, no matter your ethnic background and religious beliefs.
Our staff will work with you to create a lasting tribute to those who have meant so much. The cemetery at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens offers a number of options, including traditional lots, lawn crypts, mausoleums and niches. Due to our location and the general preference of many South Texas families, we do perform more traditional burials than cremation memorializations, but we'll be more than happy to honor whatever choice is right for you. Your family may also select a custom-built private estate or a private columbaria, allowing you to have a more intimate setting for honoring your loved ones.
We are committed to helping your family with compassionate, professional and personal service. Please contact us if you need immediate assistance or if you would like more information about our cemetery services at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Special cemetery events
Monthly, Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens host a remembrance event for families who've suffered a loss during the month. The event includes a prayer service and a balloon release, followed by food, fellowship, prizes and keepsakes.
Each holiday season, we place a Tree of Remembrance in our lobby. Families are invited to bring pictures of their loved ones that we use to create ornaments to hang on the tree. Afterward, families enjoy a reception with tamales and other foods. Each family also gets an ornament to hang on their tree at home. We also celebrate Día de los Muertos and Día de las Madres with an altar, a prayer service and plenty of candy.
