About

History

Cemetery grounds at Cemeterio La ResurreccionCementerio La Resurrección was founded in 1978 by Miguel Colón and Edwin Viera. At that time, the name of the cemetery was Carolina Memorial Development. The first cemetery service took place here in 1981. As the cemetery developed, Miguel and Edwin decided to change the name to Cementerio La Resurrección in order to serve bordering communities. Eventually they built a chapel on the property.

The cemetery was sold to Ponce Federal, which sold it in turn to Otto Brito and Silvio Flores. The cemetery is now a member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
