History

Nicholas and Mary Gattozzi founded Gattozzi Funeral Home in the Cleveland, Ohio, neighborhood of Collinwood in 1946. In 1972, under the direction of Nicholas Jr. and Rose Marie Gattozzi, we expanded to our current location, Gattozzi & Son Funeral Home in Chester Township. Funeral directors Jerry Ritola and Jay Jones joined in 1992 and 1997, respectively, bringing more than 60 combined years of experience serving families in need.

In 1999, we became part of the Dignity Memorial network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers, assuring our clients an even higher level of customer satisfaction backed by attention from a locally based team.

The Gattozzi family began with a commitment to a high standard of service, and throughout our history we have continued to maintain that standard. The team at Gattozzi & Son Funeral Home upholds a longstanding heritage and commitment to our community.

Ratings & Reviews

Verified Customer Reviews

Since 2005, many of our customers have taken the time to tell us how we did each year via our Voice of the Customer program. Our star ratings and comments from families come directly from these surveys.

"Gattozzi & Son did everything to make the planning and implementation of funeral arrangements for my parents as easy and stress-free as possible. They were caring and compassionate and accommodated all of our desires. Jay (for my dad's funeral) and Matt (for my mom's funeral) were both so kind, patient, and helpful. Jean was so gracious to help us

with planning music for the services. There was great attention to detail and making everything just right, just how our loved ones would want it. During such an emotional and difficult time, I really appreciated not having to worry about funeral arrangements because I knew our family was in good hands. I'm truly thankful for everything you have done to help us through this process."
