Pinecrest and McLaurin

Unique feature at Pinecrest Memorial ParkPinecrest Memorial Gardens was established in 1965. Nearly a decade later in 1974, McLaurin Funeral Home was built on the property. The following year in 1975, Jimmy D. McLaurin purchased Pinecrest Memorial Gardens and eventually changed the name to Pinecrest Memorial Park. After the purchase of the cemetery, McLaurin Funeral Home at Pinecrest Memorial Park became sister locations, giving families the convenience of taking care of all funeral and burial arrangements.

In 1982, construction began on the first addition to the beautiful Chapel Mausoleum. Since then, 3 total additions have been made to the mausoleum, allowing for over 650 crypts and niches, and thus, making it the largest mausoleum in Johnston County. In 2011, Pinecrest Memorial Park saw demand for more mausoleum space and began construction on the Faith Mausoleum.

Knollwood Memorial Park

On December 31, 1988, McLaurin purchased Knollwood Memorial Park, located about 9 miles southeast of the funeral home on Highway 70. The cemetery was originally established in the early 1940s for World War II veterans. He quickly created several gardens and worked with landscaping artists to develop a beautiful cemetery with a garden-like feel. Today, the office of Knollwood Memorial Park is housed in the McLaurin Funeral Home facilities.
