    Danny joined Colonial Funeral Home in July 2015 and serves on our team as a funeral director and embalmer. He was raised in Lamar and Marion counties and has been a funeral professional since 2000. An alumni of Mississippi State University, he also graduated from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College School of Mortuary Science, where he was president of the local chapter of Sigma Phi Sigma and served on the mortuary advisory board and as clinical preceptor.

    Danny stays active in Columbia and the surrounding areas as a member of the Columbia Lions Club, currently serving as assistant secretary. He performs with the Bibletones, a nationally known southern gospel quartet. He is also an active member in the Church of God as a Sunday school teacher.

    Danny is married with 1 son.

  • Jimmy D Turnage

    Funeral Director

    Jimmy is a native of Columbia, MS and employed full-time as a funeral director associate. He started his funeral career with Colonial Funeral Home in 1990 and is well rounded in many faucets of funeral service including cemetery and funeral directing responsibilities.

    Jimmy is passionate about helping others in time of need and is involved—along with our funeral home—in community events such as local blood drives and special activities.

    Jimmy is married to Marilyn Graham Turnage and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He is an active member of Foxworth First Baptist Church where he serves on various committees.
