Joel, our general manager, is a former owner who started with the funeral home in 1979. He and his wife, Vickie, graduated from Connersville High School. Joel also graduated from the former Kentucky School of Mortuary Science Louisville in 1976, and is a licensed funeral director. He is active in the communities we serve and a member of Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce. Joel has served on numerous boards and committees. He is a member of the Fayette Regional Hospital Board of Trustees and the Fayette County Foundation.
Elizabeth Grace Lucas
Libby is a lifelong Connersville resident and graduate of Connersville High School. She joined the team at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Homes in November 2013, after earning her degree in mortuary science from Ivy Tech Community College. She completed an apprenticeship at Showalter Blackwell Long before becoming a full-time licensed funeral director and embalmer. Libby says, “I was eager to be a part of funeral service, so I could have a positive impact with families when they need it most. I am excited to help offer superior service with Showalter Blackwell Long in the same communities and for people I have known my entire life.” Libby is also a licensed cosmetologist and a licensed life insurance agent with American Memorial Life Insurance.
