He is a member, usher and part of the praise-service set-up crew of Concordia Lutheran Church and a member of the Hickory Sportsman's Club. He was also a past board member of the Sipes Orchard Home Capital Campaign Committee, the Family Guidance Center, the Science Center and the Newton Downtown Revitalization Committee.

Greg and his wife have been married since April 1992. They have a son and a daughter.
