Marie-Claude was born in Québec and raised in southwestern Ontario. She has lived in Cornwall for over 16 years. Marie-Claude worked in the health care and adult education sectors before finding her passion for funeral services. Under the guidance and mentorship of Salon Funeraire M. John Sullivan Funeral Home's own M. John Sullivan, she earned her funeral director license in the provinces of Nova Scotia and Ontario. Marie-Claude speaks both English and French.
Philippe began in the funeral industry at Racine, Robert and Gauthier Funeral Home on Olmstead Street in 1971 as a student, part-time employee. At the time, he served the co-founders in many capacities, from washing cars to assisting with funerals.
Philippe became interested in a career in funeral service and enrolled at Humber College, graduating as a funeral director in 1976. Shortly after, he became funeral director and co-owner of the Lafleur and Robert Funeral Home, where he remained until 2001. Before rejoining the Racine, Robert and Gauthier team as a part-time funeral director, Philippe served in the automotive industry and in various administrative positions for the federal government.
