History

The oldest funeral home in Dartmouth, what is now known as A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home was founded by Peter McKenna in 1897. A well-known Dartmouth undertaker named Cecil E. Zinck operated the business until 1938, when he sold it to A.L. (Ab) Mattatall, and the name was changed to reflect the new ownership.

Providing funeral and memorial services and cremations, A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home has been in the same location for more than 100 years, though it has been renovated and expanded to the beautiful, modern facility it is today.
