Sheila Benson joined The Runge Mortuary and Crematory in 1999. She grew up in Ames, Iowa, and attended Iowa State University for over 3 years before transferring to Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in mortuary science in December 1989. Sheila’s career brought her to Ames, Muscatine and finally Davenport. In July 2016 she became location manager. Sheila resides in Muscatine with her husband and son and enjoys spending spare time at their lake home near Branson, Missouri.
Gary T Krayenhagen
Gary Krayenhagen graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois, with an associate degree in mortuary science. He has been a funeral director in the Quad Cities since the 80s, serving The Runge Mortuary and Crematory since 1985. Gary, a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus, enjoys handing out candy during the annual fundraiser for the Knights of Columbus. During his free time he enjoys bowling, watching sports and spending time outdoors.
Sandra L Madsen
Sandra Madsen is a native of Blue Island, Illinois. Sandy attended Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois, for several years while working at the Chicago Board of Trade.
Realizing her passion for funeral service, Sandy graduated in 1984 from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with an associate degree in mortuary science. She served 14 years in Peoria, Illinois, as a funeral director before joining Runge Mortuary and Crematory in 1998.
Gina M Grchan
Gina Malone started as an apprentice in 2015 after graduating from Carl Sandburg College of Mortuary Science. She is now a licensed funeral director and embalmer with Runge Mortuary and Crematory.
Gina has 2 daughters and enjoys reading, spending time with family and thrift shopping.
