At the historic Silverbrook Cemetery, we offer traditional burial options that honor all customs. Families can choose from a variety of options, including ground burials, lawn crypts, and mausoleums, all set within our meticulously maintained grounds. Surrounded by 70 acres of mature trees and serene landscapes, each burial space allows for personalized flat or upright memorials that beautifully commemorate a loved one's life. 

Our traditional services encompass casket burials within designated family lots or individual spaces, with the option to coordinate with clergy or officiants of any faith. We proudly serve all faiths and backgrounds, including our Greek and Muslim neighbors, ensuring that every family is welcomed and honored. As a cherished five-generation cemetery, Silverbrook seamlessly blends the familiarity of time-honored burial practices with the tranquil beauty of our historic setting, ensuring a peaceful resting place for generations to come.

History 

At Silverbrook Cemetery, our rich history is deeply woven into the fabric of our community. The lineage of care began with Abraham Lincoln White, the great-great-great-grandfather of our current location manager, Paul White III. Named in honor of President Lincoln, Abraham was born on the day of the President's assassination, symbolizing a legacy of remembrance and respect. 

Throughout the years, the White family has been committed to providing a welcoming place for all to honor their loved ones. In the 1950s, Silverbrook Cemetery became a pioneer in integration, standing firm in the belief that there should be no exclusion. Despite challenges, including acts of vandalism to Paul III’s grandfather’s vehicle, our commitment to inclusivity never wavered. 

Today, we are privileged to have numerous African American dignitaries resting on our grounds, such as Lewis Redding, the first African American to pass the bar in Delaware, and Reverend Maurice Moyer, a revered civil rights leader who marched with Martin Luther King Jr.
