  • Gene M Pike


    Gene is a 2nd-generation funeral director and embalmer and has been affiliated with Chattanooga Funeral Home since the 1950s, serving as president and florist from 1974. Gene attended the University of Chattanooga, obtained an associate's degree in education at a junior college in Nashville, and is a graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College. A 1959 licensed funeral director and embalmer in the states of Tennessee and Georgia, he oversees 4 funeral homes, 2 cemeteries, a florist and the Chattanooga Care Center.

    Gene is a member of the Chairman's Council since 1985 and has served as a longtime chairman of the board for John A. Gupton Mortuary College. Serving in various organizations in Chattanooga through the years, Gene is the past president and board member of the Walter B. Boehm Birth Defect Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Chattanooga, Contact of Chattanooga Telephone Ministry and the Half Century Club of Chattanooga. He currently serves as the vice president of awards for the Freedom Foundation of Valley Forge-Chattanooga Chapter, a half-century member and past president of the Civitan Club and a lifetime honorary member of the Chattanooga Chapter Vietnam Veterans. In 2002, Gene received the East Brainerd Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Service Award. He serves as a deacon and was the past finance chairman and president of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Ridgedale Baptist Church, where he and his wife attend church.

    Married since 1959, Gene and his wife have a son, a daughter-in-law and a granddaughter.

  • Mike M Blevins

    James "Mike" Blevins has provided caring services to those in need in the Chattanooga area for many years—including nearly 3 decades with Chattanooga Funeral Home—serving the Chattanooga area as a location manager. Mike attended Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School and graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 1989. He is an active member of Jones Memorial United Methodist Church where he serves as an usher and on the hospitality team.

  • Stephen E Pike

    Stephen Pike is a 3rd-generation funeral director and has been associated with Chattanooga Funeral Home since the early 1990s. He is a graduate of the McCallie School and the University of the South at Sewanee.

    Stephen is a deacon at Silverdale Baptist Church and currently serves on the board of directors of Volunteers in Medicine, Junior Achievement of Chattanooga and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a past president of Hamilton Place Rotary Club, former chairman of Volunteers in Medicine, past president of Brainerd East Hamilton County Chamber of Commerce, former vice-chairman of Bethel Bible Village and former chairman of the deacons at Silverdale Baptist Church.

    Stephen has been married to his wife for since the 1990s and they have 1 daughter.

  • Thomas S Tallent

    General Manager

    Thomas graduated from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science in 1978 and he has served the families of the Chattanooga and Hixson areas for over 3 decades with compassion, respect and dignity. Tom takes pride assisting families during such a challenging time in life and feels blessed to be able to lessen the stress of funeral planning. His desire is for each family to feel comforted and valued as they cherish the memories of their loved one. When Tom is not working he and his wife enjoy watching trains, planes, traveling and participating in community activities.

  • Darrin L Wolfe

    Throughout the years Darrin has been involved in numerous civic organizations. He has served on the board of directors for hospice, in various capacities in his local church and is currently serving as the Sunday school president. He is an avid cycler and enjoys the various outdoor adventures Chattanooga has to offer. Darrin especially enjoys spending time with his large family and close friends.

  • Ellis Russell Ford

    Funeral Director

    Ellis "Russell" Ford has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 1994. Russell was born in Mobile, Alabama, and moved to Orlando, Florida, as a child, residing there until attending Lee College in Cleveland, Tennessee. While obtaining his bachelor's degree, he attended both North Chattanooga Church of God and East Chattanooga Church of God, where he met the love of his life. They married in 1986 and moved to Ocala, Florida, where he served as a part-time funeral associate for several years.

    In 1993 Russell pursued a mortuary science degree at Gupton-Jones College in Decatur, Georgia, where he received the Bill Pierce Achievement Award. He managed several funeral home locations in the Ocala area. Returning to Chattanooga in 2014.

    Russell and his wife have a daughter who lives in Bristol, Tennessee. Always involved in church, they have become active members at Redemption To The Nations Church in Highland Park.

  • Richard Headrick

    Funeral Director

    Richard Headrick is a native of Kensington, Georgia and a life-long resident of Chattanooga. He attended Middle Tennessee State College, where his part-time job led him to an interest in the funeral business. After serving an apprenticeship, Richard graduated from the John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science.

    In 2016 Richard received an award for 50 years of service as a licensed mortician. He is a long time member and deacon of Brainerd Baptist Church, where he has served on various committees.

    Richard finds it most rewarding to serve and help grieving families through the most difficult time in the loss of a loved one.

  • Kevin L Mcdowd

    Kevin has been serving Chattanooga area families since 2007. He graduated from Mid-America College of Funeral Service in 2001 and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Ottawa University. He is licensed as a funeral director in Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee. Kevin is a US Coast Guard veteran and also served as a Merchant Marine. He and his wife live in the East Brainerd area. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, swimming and biking with his family.

  • "Bill" D Owens

    William was born in Chattanooga and grew up in Rossville, Georgia. Bill entered funeral service at an early age and has been serving families in the Chattanooga area for over 4 decades, most of that time with Chattanooga Funeral Home. He is a graduate of Rossville High School and attended the National Foundation of Funeral Service in Chicago, Illinois. 

    Bill is a longtime member and past president of the Ooltewah-Collegedale Kiwanis Club. He has served on the Kiwanis Board of Directors and has also served as lieutenant  governor of the Kiwanis Kentucky-Tennessee District, Division 3. Bill loves serving the children of the world through Kiwanis International. He has also served on the board of directors of Open Arms Care in Ooltewah. He is a longtime member of Redemption Point Church of God where he currently serves as a deacon on the pastor's counsel.

    Bill and his wife have been married since the 1970s and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.

    Trevor Wilson has been in the funeral business since August 1987 and now serves the families of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Born and raised in Calhoun, Georgia, he graduated from Murray County High School in Chatsworth, Georgia. Trevor acquired his degree in mortuary science from Gupton Jones Mortuary School of Science in 1990. Trevor is a very active member of Fairview Baptist Church of Athens, Tennessee. He and his wife have 3 children and Trevor enjoys gardening and spending time with his family.
