Tell a story all your own
Tell us about the best moments of a lifetime: a passionate pursuit, a lifelong hobby or their unmistakable traits. Our team of licensed funeral directors will integrate thoughtful elements into a one-of-a-kind funeral or memorial service that reflects the individual. Host an outdoor-themed service for avid trail hiker, with guests in comfortable dress and keepsake monogrammed water bottles for guests to take on their next adventure. Transform our flexible space into an art walk featuring pieces created by your family’s favorite artist, with prints for guests to pass down to the next generation. Your imagination is our inspiration for truly memorable farewells.
Every option simplified
Let us take care of the details so you can spend more meaningful time focused on family and friends. Audiovisual systems throughout our funeral home can play custom photo slideshows, video tributes or music to evoke the perfect mood.
You can select the timelessness of a traditional religious ceremony or the hopefulness of a contemporary celebration of life. You can even combine elements of both styles to create your ideal service. We're also experienced at conducting military funerals, featuring military honors, which offer a special salute to those who served our country. Those who choose cremation may opt to host a viewing beforehand, or a memorial service beforehand or afterwards. We welcome guests as they arrive at our interfaith chapel, which serves celebrants of all backgrounds and traditions.
In addition, we host community events annually in honor of our veterans and work closely with local veterans organizations. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran’s memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.

Nearly 100 years of history
The Leo P. Gallagher Funeral Home was once home to the Frank M. Reilly Funeral Residence. Frank Reilly and his wife lived upstairs over the funeral home along with their 3 children. Frank and Leo P. Gallagher were contemporaries and business friends for many years, and both began their businesses at about the same time, just prior to 1930. Both men were highly respected and loved in Stamford and Greenwich, and the 2 frequently shared ideas and progressive attitudes on how to serve the bereaved in their communities.
As time went on, each of these 2 gentlemen passed their businesses on to their descendants. In order to continue the legacy of Reilly and Gallagher, it soon became obvious these 2 entities should merge. Leo P. Gallagher Jr. purchased the Reilly funeral firm, continuing the traditions of both families as Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home of Greenwich.
