    Harry Carter graduated from Seventy-First High School in 1968. He received an associate degree in funeral service education from Fayetteville Technical Community College in 1979 and his insurance license in 1983. Serving in the funeral industry since the early 1970s, Mr. Carter has been with Reeves Funeral Home as general manager since July 2010.

    Mr. Carter enjoys his work in funeral service and likes being a mentor to young people just starting their funeral service career.

    Mr. Carter is a member and past master of St. Pauls Masonic Lodge 474, as well as St. Pauls Shrine Club where he served as president and since the early 2010s has been a member of the Hope Mills Shrine Club where he served as vice-president. He is a charter member of The St. Paul's Eastern Star Chapter 70 where he served as chaplain.

  • Melodie Boyd Reeves

    Funeral Director

    Melodie Boyd Reeves, a native of northwest Indiana and 1974 graduate of North Newton Junior-Senior High School, moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, in 1990. Shortly after, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming a funeral director.

    Melodie graduated with honors from the mortuary service program of Fayetteville Technical Community College in 1994 with an Associate of Applied Science degree. In the course of her career, Mel received certification on bereavement counseling in 1995, attained the designation of certified funeral service practitioner in 2010 and is current ambassador for the Academy of Professional Funeral Service Practitioners.

    Melodie attended a Certified Funeral Celebrant seminar in 2010 at Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Illinois. She is presently the only certified funeral celebrant in Cumberland County. Melodie has been a funeral director with Reeves Funeral Home since June 14, 2014.
