Chapel at Skyline Memorial Park CemeteryIn January 2017, Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery opened a modern event center. It has an inviting lobby, a flexible chapel, a kitchen and a large outdoor patio. The chapel has audio/visual equipment for personalized slideshows and music selections. History

Unique features at Skyline Memorial Park CemeteryPeter Kint Sr. and his wife, Toos, emigrated from the Netherlands in 1953, initially settling in Southwest Michigan. In 1959, they moved to Illinois, when Peter was hired to handle the accounting operations and superintendent duties of Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery. He became the business owner in 1985.

Peter and Toos had four sons: Pete, Paul, Rich and Ron. The brothers spent many summers working at Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery, and each has contributed to the business in his own way.

In the early 1990s, Ron made numerous updates to the property’s landscaping, rehabilitating and reshaping many of the trees and shrubbery that adorn the grounds today. Pete has worked seasonally at Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery since 1998, assisting with the general upkeep of the grounds. Rich was hired in 1990 to oversee all accounting and business operations. He remains vice president of the company today. Paul joined the business in 1985. With an architectural degree, he and Rich were instrumental in the building and design of the new memorial center. Paul is now president of Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery.

Fondly remembered by many, Peter passed away in February 1997. He is forever remembered as the silver-haired man who could be seen walking the cemetery grounds with his pipe. Today, the family business employs the third generation of Kints. In 2009, Rich’s son, Jake, became the full-time groundskeeper and Paul’s daughter, Laura, assists with other business responsibilities.

Although not technically family, Jeff Scott might as well be, as he began working as the primary groundskeeper at the cemetery in 1979.

In 2022, Skyline Memorial Park Cemetery joined the Dignity Memorial® family of funeral homes, crematories and cemeteries, offering benefits that set us apart.
