G. Wade Aycock opened Aycock Funeral Home in Stuart on South Federal Highway in December 1968. A businessman and compassionate funeral professional, he quickly established a reputation for providing fine funeral, memorial, burial and cremation services.
Treasure Coast expansion
His 1st expansion was into Jensen Beach in 1973. Later, in 1982, Wade opened a 3rd location of Aycock Funeral Home on Floresta Drive in Port Saint Lucie. Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center opened in Jupiter in 1987. The 5th Aycock Funeral Home was added to the grounds of Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Fort Pierce in 1996. Along the way, the original Stuart location also built an on-site crematory. Aycock Funeral Home opened a 2nd location on Bayshore Boulevard in Port Saint Lucie in 1995. It combined operations with Roger L. Byrd – Port St. Lucie Funeral Home in 2004 and is now known as Aycock Funeral Home – Byrd, Young & Prill Chapel. In addition, a 2nd Stuart location operates as Aycock Funeral Home – Young & Prill Chapel, about 15 minutes south of the original Stuart location.
