    Fred O Berry

    Managing Director

    Fred Berry, president of Berry Funeral Home and the Knoxville market director, is a fourth-generation funeral director, serving the Knoxville community since the early 1980s. After graduating from Doyle High School, Fred received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business from the University of Tennessee and an associate degree from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville.

    Fred is a member of Northstar Church - South Campus and enjoys serving his community through the Kiwanis Club of Knoxville, where he has served as key club advisor and on the board of directors. He served several years on the Knoxville Metropolitan Planning Commission, both as a commissioner and chairman. Currently Fred serves on the Governmental Affairs Committee for both the Tennessee Funeral Directors Association and the Cemetery Association of Tennessee. He also serves on the Knoxville Center of the Deaf board of directors.

    Fred has been married since 1987 and he and his wife have three sons and two daughters-in-law. In his spare time Fred loves to run, bike, garden and travel.

    Jeffrey B Berry

    General Manager

    Jeffrey is a fourth-generation funeral director and embalmer with a family history of funeral service spanning over a century. Jeff has served at Berry Funeral Home as a funeral director since 1987 and is currently serving the Knoxville market as general manager for Berry Funeral Home, Berry Highland South and Weaver Funeral Home. He is a 1991 graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a Bachelor of Science in business administration and a 1994 graduate of Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in Decatur, Georgia, with an Associate of Science in funeral service.

    Since its beginning in 2011, Jeff has served as chairman for the Knoxville's Dignity Memorial® Homeless Veteran Burial Program, which has served over 50 homeless veterans. Jeff is a trainer in the Knoxville market for interment verification and is also certified by the Hospice Foundation of America to instruct two continuing education unit classes on customs, rituals and demystifying the funeral experience.

    His community involvement includes serving as a board member of the East Tennessee Veterans Memorial Association, a member of the East Tennessee Military Affairs Council and has researched, collected and submitted photos of East Tennessee Vietnam soldiers memorialized on the Vietnam Veterans Wall in Washington, D.C. Jeff is active at his alma mater, South Doyle High School, where he has organized workdays since 2005 to improve the school grounds. He has been awarded certificates of recognition from the American Legion and the Scottish American Military Society for his work with the veteran's community in Knoxville.

    Archie Thomas Buchanan

    Funeral Director

    Archie Thomas Buchanan is the location manager for Berry Funeral Home in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he has served since 1997. Archie's original career path was in the coal mines of Eastern and Western Kentucky and also Southern Illinois. After deciding to change careers, he graduated from Southern Illinois University Mortuary School and began his work as a funeral director and embalmer.

    Archie has been married since the 1970s and has 3 children, 4 grandsons and 1 great-grandson. He also has a precious and beloved dog named Baxter. In his free time Archie loves to ride his bicycle and encourages others to bike for their health.

    Rebecca began serving families in Knoxville at McCarty Mortuary in 1985 and transitioned in 1993 to Weaver Funeral Home, where she currently serves as funeral director and location manager. She loves working with families to help them through the most difficult time of their lives.

    Rebecca was born in the Solway Community in Knoxville and since 1981 has lived in the Karns Community. She has 2 children and 3 grandchildren. Rebecca's favorite pastime is spending time with her grandchildren.

    Thomas W King

    Funeral Director

    Since 2000 Thomas King has been serving families in the Knoxville area. Tom grew up in South Knoxville and graduated from Young High School in 1970. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1978 and Master of Divinity degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, in 1981.

    Tom began his funeral career on a part-time basis in February 1995. He became full-time in February 1998 and entered the funeral director apprentice program at the same time. He became a licensed funeral director in 2000 and was promoted to his current position of assistant location manager at Berry Funeral Home in 2002.

    Tom says, “My greatest satisfaction is bringing comfort to families during the most difficult time in their life: the loss of a loved one. I take my responsibility to the family during the planning stages and carrying out of the services as my ministry to those families.”

    Married since the early 1970s, Tom resides in the South Knoxville community with his wife and loves spending time with his 3 grandchildren.

    Jayme Lee Rich Beeler

    Funeral Director

    Jayme began working in the funeral industry in Kentucky when she was only 16 years old. It was during this time she realized her lifelong pursuit would be to help families through the worst time of their lives. Jayme carried this passion with her to Mid-America College of Funeral Service and throughout her career. After college, Jayme served her apprenticeship in Crossville, Tennessee, where she lived in the funeral home. In early 1998, Jayme was transferred to Knoxville and is now the location manager at Berry Highland Memorial. She continues to assist families every day and believes in a family centered approach. She is a duel licensed funeral director and embalmer, but her passion is still helping "her families". Jayme transforms her location into whatever meets the needs and wishes of the families she serves. She is the first to say, this is not just a job or even a passion; it's a ministry. Jayme is married to Danny Beeler and has 3 stepdaughters Leigha, Lori and Leslie, 5 grandchildren and 2 nieces.

    Michael H Ward

    Funeral Director

    Michael Ward, licensed funeral director and embalmer, has been with Berry Funeral Home since the late 1970s. He grew up in the Fountain City community, graduated from Central High School and later attended Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science.

    Mike believes the most rewarding part of funeral service is assisting families in planning a personal and meaningful service to give honor to their loved one.

    Mike and his wife have lived in the Corryton community since the late 1990s and are members of Fairview Baptist Church. In his spare time Mike enjoys working in the yard and around the house and just spending time with his children and grandchildren.

    Donna serves as a part-time funeral director after retiring from 20 years of service as the office manager. In October 2017 she celebrated 25 years with the company. Donna is enjoying her new position and, when asked of her career, says, "It has been quite a journey!"

    Patricia Elaine Bush

    Funeral Director

    Patricia has served families in the Knoxville market since 1992. She began by helping families with pre-arrangements, serving as the department manager for 10 years, before becoming a funeral director. In 2015 Patricia retired as the location manager of Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens and now serves many Knoxville locations as a part-time funeral director, enjoying her service to community families.

    Victoria Kate Johnson

    Kate graduated from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in 2012 and began her journey as a family service counselor in Nashville, Tennessee. Her original career path was in the medical field in Middle Tennessee, but after experiencing a significant loss of her own, she found her calling. She transitioned to Knoxville in 2014 and is currently serving as a funeral director at Berry Highland South Funeral Home. Kate is a certified interment verification trainer in the Knoxville market and is proud to be part of the Dignity Memorial team. When Kate is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son.

    Since 1995 James has provided compassionate care to families in the Knoxville area. Jim has earned degrees from Carson Newman College and South Western Baptist Theological Seminary. While serving as a grief counselor for the funeral home, Jim earned his funeral director's license and is proud to be a part of the Dignity Memorial® team, guiding you through one of the most personal times in life.

    Jim enjoys camping, reading and volunteering in ministry projects.

    Donald Ray Musick

    Donald Musick has been a funeral director since 2005. He has worked in the Knoxville market since April 2016, previously working in the Chattanooga market. When it comes to serving families in need, Don treats them as he would members of his own family by showing utmost respect and passion, making one of the worst days of their lives a little more manageable.

    Don is a member of the Sacred Heart Cathedral and enjoys being a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5207 and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 160 of Knoxville.

    Don is happily married to his wife and has 1 son and a daughter-in-law. His hobbies include cooking, ballroom dancing and working for many local charities and events.

    Donnie Wayne Ownby

    Formerly a minister and pastor, Donnie Ownby began his funeral services career serving Knoxville-area families with Berry Funeral Home in 2005. After earning a funeral director license in 2009, Donnie has served as both a funeral director at Berry Funeral Home and location manager at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home.

    Grady has been in the funeral business since 1992. He is a graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville, Tennessee, and a graduate of Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville. He has worked at Weaver Funeral Home since 2007, where he is a great asset. He is very compassionate and enjoys working with families and helping them through a most difficult time. Grady is an Eagle Scout and has worked several years at summer camps. One of his favorite pastimes is woodworking.
