About

A century of service

For more than a century, we at Salon funéraire Henri Guérin have continually worked in the best interests of South Shore families. Our founder Édouard Darche’s creed—which is instilled at the core of the approach used by more than 60 employees—is as follows: “Listen carefully to families who are grieving the loss of a loved one and put at their disposal all of our acquired knowledge and experience taking into account their expectations, values and customs.”

History

The Maison Darche family of funeral homes was founded by Édouard Darche in 1884. By establishing one of the first funeral homes in Quebec, Édouard quickly became a leader in the funeral service industry and played a leading role in the local history of Chambly. During that time, bereaved families usually laid their loved ones to rest in their own home, so Maison Darche was truly a novel business.

Under the direction of Bernard Darche, the company grew and expanded. As an entrepreneur, Bernard proceeded to increase the number of funeral homes to 5, covering a large portion of the South Shore of Montreal area: Brossard, Chambly, Saint-Hubert, Longueuil, and our funeral home, Salon funéraire Henri Guérin, in La Prairie.

In order to maintain its high-quality funeral services, Salon funéraire Henri Guérin joined the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
