A welcoming funeral home
Our modern facility at D'Elia Funeral Home has newly renovated spaces with a contemporary and welcoming atmosphere. Tasteful decor, along with ample seating, provides a safe and dignified location to celebrate your loved one's life.
We offer 2 traditional chapel settings for ceremonies and 1 contemporary transitional room for a unique and personalized experience. All of our chapels offer a large monitor for viewing a video collage of photographs, and our sound system provides microphone capability and stereo music.
Floral and other services
We offer assistance with floral arrangements, monuments and grave markers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to create a personalized web page for your loved one, which includes an obituary notice, service details and the opportunity for friends and family to make an online condolence.
At D’Elia Funeral Home, we also understand that you may prefer simple services. To better serve your needs, we offer direct cremation and immediate burial with the promise of carrying out those arrangements with the utmost dignity and respect.
We recognize the service of our country's veterans and provide assistance with applications for benefits and military funeral honors.
Involvement in the Lakewood community
At D'Elia Funeral Home, we remain committed to the Lakewood community and participate in several organizations and activities. We are active in the Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. Through American Legion Post 129, our team has volunteered at the annual Turkey Dinner hosted for veterans who are residents at nursing homes statewide.
Each year, we organize a bus trip to the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, New Jersey, for its annual Memorial Day Service. With New Jersey’s Mission of Honor, we participate in laying holiday wreaths upon the graves of veterans without families. We sponsor an annual Show of Shows program for the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Mary of the Lake Parish, which strives to provide food for those less fortunate. Additionally, our annual Tree of Remembrance ceremony in December helps our families get through the first holiday season after the loss of a loved one.
Please contact us to plan a service for yourself or a loved one or if you would like more information about our services.
Thomas A. D'Elia built D'Elia Funeral Home in 1969, and we have been serving families of all faiths in Lakewood, New Jersey ever since.
With the assistance of Tom’s late father, Anthony, and his brother, Michael, the D’Elia family made a large impact on the greater Lakewood, Toms River and Brick Township communities through their dedicated community involvement and professional service. Tom and Mike both remain with us today are still a very important part of our D’Elia Funeral Home team.
In 1998, we joined the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers. As the decades have passed, much has changed in the Lakewood community, but our continued commitment to those in need has allowed us the privilege of serving our families with dignity, respect and excellent service.
