A funeral home that’s both historic and modern
Our beautiful colonial-style funeral home facility was built in 1850. The pre-Civil War structure has historic significance in Lexington as it was known as the John Meetze House and was almost burned down by Union soldiers. While our funeral home has quite a storied history, it has all the modern amenities that today’s families require. To better serve the Lexington community, an addition was designed by Drafts/Jumper Architects to blend with and complement the original structure. The addition boasts a 1,700-square foot space that serves as a combination chapel/reposing room, offices and a restroom. Our facility also has a reception room for catered events and a gorgeous atrium with a flowing fountain, live plants and benches to allow families to sit and reflect.
Caughman-Harman Funeral Homes had the first crematory in South Carolina and it is one of the only crematories in the Midlands certified by the Cremation Association of America (CANA).
We are members of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers. When you choose Caughman Harman Funeral Home, you not only receive the compassionate care you expect from a Lexington-operated establishment but also the value you deserve from North America’s largest network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
Please give us a call. We are here to serve you.
