Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home has been an important part of the Mission, British Columbia, community for more than a century.

Beautiful Mission funeral home

Chapel at Woodlawn Mission Funeral HomeOver the years, renovations have completely modernized our building's interior, while preserving the original character of the structure. The original wide, solid-wood moldings and wood windows continue to grace the facility with a traditional elegance. Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home features an elegant chapel that seats up to 100 guests, with elevated and curved ceilings and original plaster walls that convey an atmosphere of character. The facility is also equipped with a projector and DVD system for additional memorialization options.

Our fireside reception area is a beautiful option for families to receive guests following services and hold catered events. In addition, our funeral home offers convenient onsite parking and dedicated curb parking in front of the building.

Compassionate care

Every day, our staff has the ability to make a difference. From traditional burial and cremation options to celebration of life services, all of our products and services are designed to help you plan a meaningful tribute.

At Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, our core values of respect, integrity, service excellence and enduring relationships are the nature of what we do and who we are. Our commitment extends to the whole community as well. We proudly support organizations including Rotary Club of Mission, Chamber of Commerce, Business Professional Women’s Club, The Royal Canadian Legion and others.

The Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home history dates back a century and was opened in the early 1900s by Johnny Jones as the first funeral home in Mission, British Columbia. In 1930, it was sold to John Gilles who built a new funeral home. To this day, our funeral home is still known as the Heritage building at the corner of Third and Horne.

A new name

In 1952, Leslie W. Davies acquired the facility, renaming it Mission Funeral Home. In 1983, Neil Allert, who owned Woodlawn Funeral Home in Abbotsford, British Columbia, bought Mission Funeral Home and renamed it Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home.

Continued service

Now a proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home is honoured and privileged to continue to serve Mission area families as we have for the past 90 years.

Since 2005, many of our customers have taken the time to tell us how we did each year via our Voice of the Customer program. Our star ratings and comments from families come directly from these surveys.

"Michael and his staff went out of their way to provide a wonderful service for our Mom so we could honour her in special ways despite the limitations from the Health Region due to the Pandemic. They were very helpful and very comforting and directed us to other resources if we needed them. Thank you to this great team in such a difficult time for families like ours."

"Tammy was easy to deal with. Professional and caring. Although we did not have a service, her attention to detail was wonderful. The added service of cancelling CPP/OAS, care card, applying for the death benefit and notifying credit bureau took a lot of work off my shoulders. I highly recommend their service. Thank you from myself and my family."

"Staff at Mission are amazing. They think of every little detail, never press you and help you with all the things surrounding the passing and what has to be done, many of which most people don't even know about. Another huge thing is they treat your loved one with every dignity and respect possible. Sadly, I have had to use them a couple times but couldn't think of a better place to be. Fair and upfront with pricing. Couldn't have a service because of COVID but last time I used them, the service was beautiful. I highly recommend them. They will guide you compassionately through all the grief to accomplish what needs to be done. Cheri"
