Let’s start with a story. Tell us about your or your loved one's driving passions: hobbies, pursuits and dreams. At Roselawn Funeral Home, our professional funeral directors will integrate meaningful elements into a personalized memorial service that deeply resonates with every guest.
Imagine a hiker’s final farewell, with guests in comfortable dress and keepsake monogrammed water bottles for friends and family to take on their next outdoor adventures. Envision an aviation-themed service for the pilot who spent her spare time in the sky, with our team providing a first-class experience with "in-flight" champagne and snacks. Between your imagination and our creative resources, we can fulfill almost any final wish.
Leave the details to us

Leave the catering to us—with your favorite dishes prepared and served on your behalf—so you can spend more time with those who matter most.
Our interfaith chapel warmly welcomes celebrants of all faiths, whether you select a traditional religious funeral or a contemporary celebration of life.
Roselawn Memorial Gardens
Roselawn Memorial Gardens is a convenient burial ground. Inside our rolling acreage with beautiful foliage and mature trees, you’ll discover timeless artwork and breathtaking sculpture, as well as a range of burial options.
The cemetery mausoleum, crafted in stone, stands as an enduring memorial to those who choose above-ground entombment. We offer adjacent spaces that can be reserved for family or friends. Inurnment in cremation niches offers distinction and peace of mind for those who choose cremation.
Cremation options also include in-ground burial or scattering of cremated remains in reserved areas of our manicured gardens.
The Field of Honor accommodates burial with military veterans. Family estates mark a unique opportunity to gift future generations the reassurance of a central burial place.
Count on us, day or night
At Roselawn Funeral Home and Roselawn Memorial Gardens, we consider it an honor to support families across the greater Nashville area, from Norene to Fosterville. Please contact us anytime, so we may assist with your funeral or burial arrangements in Murfreesboro.
Brothers Edwin and Dayton Phillips created Roselawn Memorial Gardens to serve a growing population between Murfreesboro and Smyrna. In the 1950s, the City of Murfreesboro owned a cemetery within the city limits; several private families and churches owned cemeteries as well.
Just below their newly purchased land, Rutherford County’s legendary limestone rock proved a challenge for routine burial. Rather than rely on explosives to loosen the soil, the brothers undertook an impressive ground rock removal project, eliminating the need for explosives to make room for 6 feet of topsoil.
They built a modest-size mausoleum to gauge their neighbors’ receptiveness to above-ground burial. The community liked it, and the mausoleum was soon expanded to include an informal chapel for committal services.
In May 2014, Roselawn Memorial Gardens completed the vision of Edwin and Dayton by building a funeral home on the cemetery grounds. Roselawn Funeral Home comfortably accommodates the families of Rutherford County and Middle Tennessee. Several cemetery gardens are within walking distance of the funeral home, allowing for a horse-drawn carriage processional, bicycle escorts for a funeral coach or ceremonial peace walks to a final resting place.
