Gary "Mike" Morgan started his career at Hermitage Funeral Home in the 1990s as a family service counselor. Mike was promoted to family service manager at Forest Lawn Funeral Home and became a funeral director at Woodlawn Funeral Home before returning to Hermitage as location manager. At the same time, he also became location manager at Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home.
Mike feels blessed to have worked with and learned from some of the finest professionals in the funeral business, but more importantly he is honored to have cared for so many friends and neighbors.
Herschel David Begarly
Born and raised in the area of Mount Juliet and Hermitage, David Begarly graduated from Mount Juliet High School in 1974 and began working with Mount Juliet Funeral Home. David obtained his funeral director license in 2003 and began working part time with both Hermitage Funeral Home and Hibbett and Hailey Funeral Home in 2008.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, David served 37 years in law enforcement in Wilson County before retiring and joining the Hermitage Funeral Home team full time.
Mary Katherine Moore
Mary Katherine joined our staff in 2005 as a funeral director and embalmer. She is a graduate of John A. Gupton Mortuary College. Native to Orlando, Florida, she moved to Nashville in 2005. Mary Katherine lives in Gallatin with her husband, Keith.
When asked what attracted her to the funeral industry, she replied, "I have wanted to become a funeral director since the age of 10 years old. I truly believe this is my calling to help people during the most difficult time in their lives. Everybody has a story; my place is to listen and tell your loved one's story through tributes, photos and personal touches."
Courtney Hise Reed
Courtney is a native of Manchester, Tennessee, and a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Since she was in elementary school, Courtney had aspirations of one day becoming a funeral director and embalmer. While attending Coffee County Central High School, she eagerly began volunteering at Coffee County Funeral Chapel during her junior year. Immediately following high school, she enrolled at John A. Gupton Mortuary College where she earned her degree in mortuary science. Courtney joined the Dignity Memorial team in September of 2014 at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home. She has since worked at Mount Olivet Funeral Home, and now serves families at both Hermitage and Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Homes.
Courtney lives in Old Hickory with her husband, Chris, and their two rescued cattle dogs, Rayn and Gunnar. She and her husband enjoy cheering on the Nashville Predators, relaxing on cruises, watching Shark Tank re-runs, and spending time with family and friends.
Courtney is honored to serve families and help them design an appropriate tribute for their loved ones.
