A native of Arkansas, Lee Murphy moves to the Memphis area in 1998 to attend mortuary school at Northwest Mississippi Community College. Since then, he has served as an embalmer, funeral director, operations manager, location manager and general manager. He is now the director for the Memphis market. He is highly invested in the future of funeral service and sits on the funeral service program advisory committee at his alma mater as well as serving as our organization’s scholarship ambassador at the school.
Lee resides in Desoto County, Miss. with his wife and 2 children. He attends Life Fellowship Church.
Amber Breanne Holloway
Amber Holloway is a native of Greenwood, Mississippi. She currently resides in Olive Branch with her son and has been serving the families of the Olive Branch community since 2015. Amber is a 2013 graduate of Holmes Community College where she earned her associate degree in funeral service technology. A friendly and comforting presence, Amber serves every family with dignity and respect and continually goes above and beyond to care for the families entrusted to her.
Jonathan H Matthews
As a funeral celebrant Jonathan helps families design and host personalized tributes and celebrations of life. He believes every life has a story and strives to make every service meaningful and memorable.
Jonathan is a licensed funeral director in Tennessee and Mississippi. He first entered funeral service in 1986. He received his mortuary science degree from John A. Gupton College in Nashville and also holds a bachelor’s in communications from Freed-Hardeman University, a master’s in Biblical studies from Lipscomb University, and a juris doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law.
In addition to his work at the funeral home, Jonathan serves as minister of music and worship of Redeemer Evangelical Church in Collierville. In his spare time, he enjoys singing in a gospel quartet and providing musical programs to churches, senior citizen gatherings and nursing homes. A native of Ripley, Tennessee, Jonathan now lives in East Memphis.
Alva G Phillips
Alva "Gene" Phillips is the president and former owner of Brantley Funeral Home. Gene, as he is known by all, has served the Olive Branch community since the 1970s. He is a former member of the Mississippi Board of Funeral Service, having been appointed by the Governor, as well as an active member of the Mississippi Funeral Directors Association where he has served many years as Northern District Governor.
Gene is a solid and consistent presence in the town and is respected by the citizens and other funeral service professionals alike. Gene and his wife, an Olive Branch native, have lived in Olive Branch since the 1960s. They are both active members of First Baptist Church of Olive Branch and have 3 adult children.
