Established in the 30s, Kahler-Dolce Mortuary has been serving Papillion, neighboring communities and Sarpy County for over 80 years. Throughout the years, families have trusted us to provide exactly what they need and honor their loved ones with services that uniquely reflect their lives. Our communities have placed their confidence in us when it comes to honoring their loved ones' wishes.

The mortuary was founded in the 30s by Bill Claire and operated as the Claire Mortuary. In 1946, James and Louise Kahler purchased the business and changed the name to the Kahler Mortuary. In 1976, John and Mary Dolce bought the mortuary from the Kahlers and changed the name to Kahler-Dolce Mortuary. We continue to operate in our original location in downtown Papillion. We’re a proud member of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.

James Kahler began with a commitment to a high standard of service. Throughout our history, we have continued to lead and innovate while maintaining that high standard. Everyone at Kahler-Dolce Mortuary is proud to uphold this heritage and commitment to our community.

Since 2005, many of our customers have taken the time to tell us how we did each year via our Voice of the Customer program. Our star ratings and comments from families come directly from these surveys.

"I have had experiences with Kahler Dolce Mortuary for many years due to church assignments and the passing of people I knew. Now it was my wife and though I knew they were good I was amazed at the support and service they provided. I have instructed my family that Kahler Dolce is to do my services when the time comes and would recommend them to anyone."

"Pat and his team buried my father 25 years ago and they did an amazing job. With the new Veterans Memorial Cemetery being open, Pat helped my family relocate my Dad who is a veteran. Coming from a military family, we are all very exited about the move. Pat handled everything from start to finish and the cost was very reasonable. When you are working with something so important as your loved one, it is an incredible feeling to be able to put your trust into an someone like Pat and his team. We are forever grateful."

"We had a great experience from beginning to end. All of the staff was very helpful and attentive to our needs. They made sure every detail was perfect and they even designed a beautiful folder for us which we had no idea was going to be allowed during a covid service. They also made sure to make things as normal as possible for us during this not so normal time of covid. I would highly recommend this funeral home."
