We Honor Veterans
At Shadow Mountain Mortuary, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Four Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, we are honored to serve our nation’s heroes and take this responsibility seriously. We have taken steps to ensure our staff is knowledgeable of all the special benefits available to those who have served our country in the armed forces and their families.
In addition, we host community events annually in honor of our veterans and work closely with local veterans organizations. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran’s memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.
Located on the northwest corner of Cave Creek and Greenway Road, Shadow Mountain Mortuary is in close proximity to the National Cemetery. We proudly sponsor the Eternal Flame at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, which burns to honor the fallen heroes of our country at only the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona and Arlington National Cemetery.
All of our services are designed to help families through one of the most personal and challenging stages of life. We understand losing a loved one is an emotional and difficult experience. At Shadow Mountain Mortuary, we are committed to helping families with compassionate, professional and personal service.
After returning from service in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, Lee Scott entered funeral services industry and founded Shadow Mountain Mortuary in 1974. Deeply involved in the Phoenix community, Lee and his staff were active in supporting, working and being members of organizations, including hospital boards, Chambers of Commerce, Arizona Funeral Directors Association, Rotary International, Masonic Lodge #61, Order of the Eastern Star and Phoenix Boys Choir.
Commitment to excellence
Lee Scott also provided services to the fallen heroes of our local police departments, usually without charge to their family members. Lee recognized a similar dedication to excellence in funeral service and playing a role to the community and decided to join the Dignity Memorial® network.
For the many years after this change, Lee Scott continued to make a contribution to Shadow Mountain Mortuary as long as his health allowed. Shadow Mountain Mortuary is proud to have continued this legacy. We have been recognized many times for the legacy of compassion and dedication as we continue to provide funeral services to members of Arizona's Police Forces, numerous community and civic organizations, and the families of Phoenix, Scottsdale and the Upper Valley area.
