At Shadow Mountain Mortuary, we are committed to helping families with compassionate, professional and personal service.

Front exterior at Shadow Mountain MortuaryAfter returning from service in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War, Lee Scott entered funeral services industry and founded Shadow Mountain Mortuary in 1974. Deeply involved in the Phoenix community, Lee and his staff were active in supporting, working and being members of organizations, including hospital boards, Chambers of Commerce, Arizona Funeral Directors Association, Rotary International, Masonic Lodge #61, Order of the Eastern Star and Phoenix Boys Choir.

Commitment to excellence

Lee Scott also provided services to the fallen heroes of our local police departments, usually without charge to their family members. Lee recognized a similar dedication to excellence in funeral service and playing a role to the community and decided to join the Dignity Memorial® network.

For the many years after this change, Lee Scott continued to make a contribution to Shadow Mountain Mortuary as long as his health allowed. Shadow Mountain Mortuary is proud to have continued this legacy. We have been recognized many times for the legacy of compassion and dedication as we continue to provide funeral services to members of Arizona's Police Forces, numerous community and civic organizations, and the families of Phoenix, Scottsdale and the Upper Valley area.

Verified Customer Reviews

Since 2005, many of our customers have taken the time to tell us how we did each year via our Voice of the Customer program. Our star ratings and comments from families come directly from these surveys.

"Unfortunately, we lost my father in May 2019 and my mother in Dec 2020. Shadow Mountain Mortuary took care of the arrangements for each of them. Megan Millage also assisted with the VA paperwork required to get them placed in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. The assistance and caring nature of the Shadow Mountain Mortuary staff greatly reduced the burden on our family."
