Committed to Port Jefferson families
Our dedicated team is led by Ralph G. Ferrara, Robert D. Sturges and Cindy Cavorti. All of us are committed to helping you create heartfelt funeral and memorial services. At O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, we focus on your loved one’s passions, personality and individuality to help memorialize and honor the unique life that has meant so much to family and friends.
The professional funeral and cremation services offered by our team can be held at our funeral home, your place of worship or another place that's meaningful to you. We are also able to assist with additional needs, such as flowers, memorial remembrances, monuments and inscriptions. We can also arrange any food and beverage needs through a 3rd-party caterer. In addition to this Port Jefferson location, O.B. Davis Funeral Homes also has locations in Miller Place and Centereach.
Located at Nesconset Highway and Terryville Road, our Port Jefferson funeral home is an eminent Federalist-style building with a spacious chapel and ample parking. We invite you to visit O.B. Davis Funeral Homes. We'll be to show you around and explain the entire process.
Believed to be one of the oldest businesses on Long Island, O.B. Davis Funeral Homes has provided dedicated service to the Port Jefferson and Brookhaven community for more than 150 years.
The early years of the funeral home
The firm was established in 1858 when E.A. Raynor acquired the business from Ambrose T. King, the local undertaker and cabinetmaker in the historic village of Port Jefferson. Upon the death of E.A. Raynor in 1914, his partner Orlando B. Davis took sole ownership of the funeral home and proudly served his community until his death in 1927. In 1935, his family incorporated the business and separated their undertaking services from the furniture business.
Seeing the need for a larger facility, and sticking to its roots of historic Port Jefferson, the Davis family relocated their business to its present-day location at 4839 Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station.
The business expands
Upon the passing of Ronald Leroy Davis in 1972, the Davis Family sold the business to George M. Conway, a 3rd-generation funeral director from the Conway Family of Jackson Heights, Queens. He took the opportunity to expand O.B. Davis Funeral Homes and acquired Regan, DiPaola Funeral Home in Centereach, New York.
The latest addition to the O.B. Davis namesake came in 1990 when the Conway Family opened a funeral home in Miller Place, New York. In 1999, we joined the Dignity Memorial® Network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers.
Carrying on our heritage
At O.B. Davis Funeral Homes, we promise to continue to embrace the value of tradition, compassion and personal care that has earned us the honorable reputation that precedes us today.
