Local funeral care
The team members at Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home Inc. share deep generational roots in our Beaver County communities and consider it an honor to plan funeral and cremation services for families in the greater Pittsburgh area. Our children have grown up with your children. We have participated in the fullness of Pennsylvania life through our involvement in schools, sports, civic organizations and churches.
We honor veterans
At Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home and Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, we understand the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families. As a Level Two Founding Community Partner with We Honor Veterans, our staff is knowledgeable in the benefits available to veterans and their families. With respect, integrity and dignity, we will walk you through the steps of creating a veteran's memorial service that truly honors the life and sacrifice of your loved one.
Commitment to personal service
It's these ties to our Rochester community that keep our priorities focused on caring for each family we meet, providing 1-on-1 attention when you need it most. One way we do this is through personalized funeral and cremation services that celebrate the story of life—the memories, passions and loved ones that carry us through our journey. When you choose Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home Inc., our funeral directors will help you tell this story as we honor your loved one's life. We welcome your ideas and turn them into a lasting funeral or memorial service that carries on the legacy of your loved one.
In addition, your services can be held in a spacious 12,000-square-foot funeral home, including a life center, which allows families to enjoy the company of friends and family while receiving comforting care.
Sylvania Hills Memorial Park
Located on the same grounds as the funeral home, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park has been a leading cemetery serving families in Beaver County since 1938. There are nearly 35,000 interments and 5,000 entombments. Nestled in the rolling hills of Daugherty Township and Rochester, Pennsylvania, our cemetery is known for its lovely grounds, stately trees and striking features, such as Chimes Tower, Last Supper and the Resurrection of Christ. The most noted feature is the majestic mausoleum with its cathedral architectural design.
Affordable funeral and cremation services
For families who choose cremation, we offer glass and bronze niches, as well as bronze memorials and granite memorial benches. Exclusive estate areas have been developed in the park that allow families to select bench and gated estates as well as private family mausoleums. Personalized landscaping is available to match each family's style.
In addition to our private family estates and mausoleum, we offer numerous lovely gardens for families choosing ground burial. We have 102 acres of beautifully manicured grounds with 23 separate gardens. We have traditionally been a flat-bronze memorial only cemetery, but the newer Garden of the Laurels allows families the option of upright granite memorials.
Memorial Day celebrations
During the Memorial Day holiday, over 7,000 American flags are placed at the veterans' graves by 100s of volunteers. They flow in the late spring breeze, creating a memorable image of honorable service and freedom.
Meet the teams
Together, Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home Inc. and Sylvania Hills Memorial Park strive to exemplify our core values of respect, integrity, service excellence and enduring relationships. Our commitment to you is to listen and serve by designing a lasting memory. We hope you'll contact us if you need immediate assistance, or would like to plan a funeral service for yourself or a loved one.
In 1993, a funeral home was built adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park's mausoleum in Rochester. The 12,000-square-foot funeral home was designed to provide families with easy access, spacious rooms and modern facilities during life’s most difficult time. With always evolving expectations of service, a life event center opened in 2015 to serve the growing catering requests.
A local family legacy
Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home Inc. bears the heritage name of its founder George Gabauer and Bob Saul, a longtime employee and 3rd generation native of Beaver County. Saul was called to funeral service at a young age and has been a licensed funeral director since 1979 at funeral homes in Pennsylvania, Florida and Indiana.
Today, Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home Inc. and Sylvania Hills Memorial Park continue to have reputations of providing exceptional and compassionate service. We look forward to helping you.
