Memorial Day event
We consider it a privilege to honor military families and veterans. Each year, on Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Considered the longest continuously operating business in West Seattle, Forest Lawn Cemetery has served families since 1902. In the early 1980s, Forest Lawn Funeral Home opened to better serve the West Seattle community. The facility closed shortly thereafter and reopened in 1995. In 2002, we merged with West Home Funeral Chapel in West Seattle. Today, both the funeral home and cemetery are members of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers and create personalized tributes to celebrate those who shape our community each day.
