History

Dating back to Victorian Philadelphia, Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, Inc. opened our doors in 1870. William Rowen was an influential resident of Southampton and served as president of the Philadelphia School Board.

In the early 1940s his grandson, William Rowen Grant, purchased the old Leedman Funeral Home and moved the family business to our Street Road location in Southampton Township, Bucks County. Leedman Funeral Home, well established in the area, associated with the Oliver Bair Company, an exclusive Philadelphia funeral home at the turn of the 20th century.

The Grant family were pioneers, opening one of the first area crematories on location at their funeral home. The family business was continued by his great-grandson, William Rowen Grant Jr., until October of 1995 when the funeral home became a member of the Dignity Memorial® network.

"Bart Hibner of Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home Inc. seemed to anticipate our needs before we could express them, what a professional. He was in constant contact with me from the moment he was notified that my mother had died and followed up days after the interment. I wish everyone's experience could be this smooth."
